We gave a contract to Peter Horn to design this chair several years ago. The sketches lay for a long time in our drawers. We had not trusted ourselves to encroach on a market which is so influenced by such large numbers of pieces and stiff competition prices until an architect implored us for help. He had dozens of chairs standing in his office for a project of his. In his opinion they were either cheap and tawdry or looked as if they were or they were good but too expensive. So we accepted the challenge to build a well-shaped and comfortable chair which is also reasonably priced.
